Stefano Pilati to Exit YSL Next Week

However cheap coach bags, every published story touting Pilati’s exit was matched with a rebuttal from the brand—until this weekend.   On Saturday the AP reported that the designer was leaving YSL and Hedi Slimane cheap coach bags, the Dior Homme designer-turned-fashion photographer, would take over the brand.  Though the story reported that the deal is done and the contracts signed, the house only confirmed Pilati’s exit this morning—not Slimane’s arrival.

It’s expected that the house will name its new creative director after the fall collection’s shown on March 5th, but there’s no word on where Pilati will go next.

No one—in the past decade cheap coach bags, at least—has been plagued by rumors quite like Stefano Pilati.   The designer, who put in time at Armani and Miu Miu before taking over Yves Saint Laurent ten years ago, has designed collections beloved by critics and celebrities and others cheap coach bags, well, not so well received.  Though his accessories have earned the house a steady profit, WWD points out that Saint Laurent himself said, “Some of what he does is good. Some of it is not so good,” while Pierre Berge purposefully left Pilati off the guest list of the Petit Palais’ YSL retrospective two years ago.

Pilati told WWD, “I am incredibly proud of what I have accomplished with my teams over the past decade at Saint Laurent.  I exit the house with fierce conviction in all that we have achieved and deep gratitude to those who have supported me along the way. I wish the maison Yves Saint Laurent and its new creative director the very best for the future.”
