Florence and the Machine hit the big time with their massive debut Lungs, and now they’re set to follow up with an as-yet untitled album due out November 7th in the UK (no US release date yet). You can preview the first single, “What the Water Gave Me,” below, in all its choir-infused glory.
A new video for the “Muppet Show Theme Song” gives The Muppets the OK Go video treatment… well, sort of. Kirk Thatcher, who directed the previous viral Muppets videos “Ode to Joy” and “Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody nike soccer shoes,” riffs off the rock band’s own meticulously orchestrated and endlessly amusing videos for their cover of the show’s theme song on the new compilation Muppets: The Green Album. Swedish balaeric crooners jj have a new single, “You Don’t Know How Much It Would Hurt Me If You Said That You Were In Love With Me,” for free download via their website. The track’s title is a mouthful, but that won’t be the only surprise to listeners: the band’s crisp, well-produced sheen is gone, replaced more a more lo-fi approach. Listen (via P4K):

Seattle label Sub Pop continues to explore the chilled out corners of indie rock with new signees Still Corners. The London-based band’s haunting sound is like a combination of Beach House atmospherics with Zola Jesus’ new-goth tendencies. Watch the video for “Cuckoo” here:
